Summary (iSIM 2025)

Date: 12-13 January 2025
Location: 601 Loyola Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana 70113

The iSIM 2025 was held in New Orleans on January 12-13, 2025 and seamlessly connected with the 16th MMM-Intermag Conference. It was financially sponsored and supported by the IEEE Magnetics Society (MagSoc). The symposium had 54 attendees: 20 from Asia, 18 from North America, and 16 from Europe. There were 19 invited talks and 18 contributed posters on the integrated magnetic materials, devices, and microsystems for applications including sensing, integrated circuits, integrated power supply, and flexible magneto-electronics.

One of the unique and prominent features of the iSIM series has been the banquet dinner, at the end of the first day of the symposium, designed to give an opportunity for the attendees to experience the local vibe of the host city. For the iSIM 2025, the banquet dinner was held at Galatoire’s Restaurant located in the heart of the French Quarter of New Orleans.

In order to encourage more participation from industry, the tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) sensor was selected as the focused area for the iSIM 2025, and we invited the speakers from companies including Bosch Sensortec GmbH, Tokyo Electron Limited, MultiDimension Technology, and Hprobe. These companies chose to become industry sponsors for the symposium and were joined by Futek Furnace Inc., Analog Devices Inc., evico magnetics GmbH and Texas Instruments. We are very grateful to all the sponsors for the support.

The iSIM2025 concluded with an Award Ceremony, where outstanding contributions to the field were recognized. The iSIM 2025 Awardees are listed below:
